  4. Workplace Security provides password controlled access to protect your desktop 
  5. objects from unauthorized access, tampering or accidental shredding. Workplace 
  6. Security prevents Locked objects from being opened or having their settings 
  7. changed without entering the  correct password. 
  8.  
  9. Locked objects cannot be: 
  10.  
  11.      deleted 
  12.      moved 
  13.      renamed 
  14.      copied 
  15.      dragged 
  16.      receive dropped objects 
  17.  
  18.  Once a password has been set for the object, a Lock item will appear in the 
  19.  objects menu when you click the right mouse button on the object. 
  20.  
  21.  Once an object is locked, an Unlock item is displayed in the objects menu. The 
  22.  correct password must be issued to unlock the object. If the object password 
  23.  is lost or forgotten, the master password can be used to unlock the object.

  25.  Remain locked when opened 
  26.  
  27.  By selecting this check box, Workplace Security will keep an object locked 
  28.  after entering the correct password when openning a locked object. It will 
  29.  remain locked until the Unlock menu item is specifically selected.

  31.  Display (locked) in icon title 
  32.  
  33.  By selecting this check box, Workplace Security will display the the word 
  34.  (locked) in the icon title. It is removed when the object is unlocked. This 
  35.  option is checked by default.

  37.  Remove special menu items 
  38.  
  39.  The common menu items associated with the desktop and folder objects are 
  40.  removed from an objects menu when the object is locked, leaving only the 
  41.  Settings and Unlock menu items. When the object is unlocked, the menu items 
  42.  are restored. These common menu items include:

  44.      Arrange 
  45.      Open 
  46.      Open parent 
  47.      Create Another 
  48.      Create Shadow 
  49.      Copy 
  50.      Delete 
  51.      Find 
  52.      Help 
  53.      Move 
  54.      Pickup 
  55.      Select 
  56.      Sort 
  57.  
  58.  In addition to these common menu items, the desktop and some folder objects 
  59.  have special menu items that perform special functions. Some examples of 
  60.  special menu items include:

  62.      The Drives folder Create partition menu item 
  63.      The Desktop Lockup menu item 
  64.      The Desktop Shut down menu item 
  65.      The Desktop System Setup menu item.

  67.  These special menu items can be removed by checking the Remove special menu 
  68.  items check box option from the objects settings notebook password page. 
  69.  
  70.  The desktop settings notebook has a second password page for selectively 
  71.  controlling which special menu items are displayed in the desktops menu. Any 
  72.  of these menu items can be selectively controlled.

  79.  Note: The Lockup and Shut down menu items will not be displayed if the Remove 
  80.  special menu items check box option is also checked.

  82.  Lockout on startup

  84.  The Lockout function provides a "look but don't touch" alternative to the 
  85.  built-in Lockup function. The Lockout function displays a password dialog that 
  86.  cannot be exited until the correct desktop password is entered. When the 
  87.  Lockout function is active, all desktop objects are inaccessible.

  89.  The Lockout function can be invoked at system startup by selecting the Invoke 
  90.  Lockout at System startup option from Password page 2 of the Desktop settings 
  91.  notebook.

  95.  Enter a password from 1 to 15 characters in this field. The password can be 
  96.  either upper or lower case. The password is not case sensitive. Special 
  97.  characters including spaces are accepted.

  99.  Password (for verification)

  101.  Enter the same password as was entered in first password field. The password 
  102.  must match the password entered in the first password field or an error is 
  103.  displayed.

  109.       Press the OK button to set or change the objects password. The password 
  110.       must be entered in both password entry fields. If the password typed in 
  111.       both fields do not match, a message stating that the passwords do not 
  112.       verify will be issued. When the passwords match, a message indicating 
  113.       that the password has been accepted is issued and the password is set for 
  114.       the object. Once set, this password must be used to unlock the object the 
  115.       next time it is locked.

  117.      Undo

  119.       Press the Undo button to remove password protection for the object. The 
  120.       "lock" item will no longer be displayed in the objects context menu.
